Show up at City Council & Protect the Gayborhood

9:30 AM – Noon: Council Watch: Let Council know we are watching. Wear your t-shirt and sit in council chambers. Sign up!
76 Place arena also threatens to displace LGBTQIA+ local businesses, community spaces and resources in Philly’s historic and beloved Gayborhood. No Arena Gayborhood (NAG) is a determined group of LGBTQIA+ people organizing to protect Philly queer spaces, especially the historic Gayborhood, from harmful development. They have already gathered more than 1,000 signatures on a petition explaining what is at risk: LGBTQIA+ people all over Philly rely on Gayborhood communities, businesses, and services, such as the Mazzoni Center, William Way, Giovanni’s Room, and more—but arena-related traffic, crowds, and construction could limit access to these vital resources. NAG is working in solidarity with other community groups to come at this issue from all angles and make it clear that no one who lives in or cares about Philly wants 76 Place to be built. Let’s show City Council that 76 Place is not an option for Philadelphia’s LGBTQIA+ community! RSVP!
